Practical Safety Control for Lifting Operations & International Standard Interpretation

Most lifting accidents stem from non-standard on-site operations. According to international safety statistics, over 35% of lifting incidents are caused by improper sling selection, incorrect lifting point positioning and unreasonable sling angles. Whether in construction sites, factory equipment relocation or port heavy cargo handling, standardized lifting management processes are the core of risk prevention. A complete compliant lifting workflow includes: pre-lifting load calculation, gravity center confirmation, visual sling inspection, trial lift test, site exclusion zone setup, and dedicated signalman command. Before each operation, the WLL (Working Load Limit) of all rigging must be verified, and overloading is strictly prohibited. The sling angle should be controlled at about 60°, with minimum not lower than 45°; an excessively small angle multiplies the actual tension and causes breakage risk. Sharp edges on workpieces must be fitted with corner guards to prevent cutting slings. No personnel are allowed to stand under suspended loads, and high-altitude lifting must be stopped in strong wind conditions. On many overseas projects, site supervisors verify operator qualifications and sling inspection certificates before work starts. JIN YANG HU has sorted out complete lifting safety operation specifications based on international common standards. All rigging products are marked with clear WLL and angle warning signs, and we provide supporting safety training materials and load calculation tools to help customers standardize on-site operations and reduce accident risks.
